ok so i feel it necessary to mention..
the pain of the enlightened is to be judged by those who have not yet learned how to not judge. the best example of this truth.. i believe is the story of Jesus' crucifixion..
the simple truth of course is that to judge or condemn anything or anyone is TO BE judged and condemned and i have it on high authority that the rest of everyone will figure this out eventually via their own devices..
so really in the mean time it is our job to just love ppl the best we can.. given the time of the year it seems rather appropriate.. but maybe we can carry the attitude forward into the new year and keep it close to our hearts always..
i'm not saying we need to change the world or anything.. how bout just becoming the change we want to see in others eh? it can't be that hard can it?
with that.. Merry Christmas everyone and happy new years and all that jazz...

| from my wife.. |
[Nov. 16th, 2007|03:51 pm] |
I do believe I have the bestest wife on this entire planet... :P
~~~~~~~~~~~ I really wanted to tell you how much I appreciate who you are. Thank you for listening to me when I have the black goggles of doom on and not taking it personally. Thank you for hugging me when I need it; which is most of the time lately. Thank you for playing the guitar and singing to me (I think this is my favorite). Thank you for being an inspiring dad to all of our children. Thank you for showing them how they should be loved by a man. I never had any idea that a relationship could be honest and I thank you for showing me this. Thank you for working so hard even when it isn’t appreciated. Thank you for always trying to be the best even when it’s unacknowledged. Thank you for standing up for everyone even when it annoys me. Thank you for choosing me. Thank you for loving me so perfectly. I don’t think that I will ever be able to tell you enough how much I love you or how glad I am that you put up with me and how happy I am that you are a stubborn man but, I intend to keep trying.
Love you, ~~~~~~~~~~~
Everything I am is because of you...
[Oct. 17th, 2007|06:36 pm] |
well apparently we got denied our request for new monitors.. or rather.. we asked for 9 more.. but we only got 3.. i doubt i'll be on the list of ppl to get one of those three.. ah well..
there are some ppl that want the dual monitor setup.. also some that would just like a flat screen instead of a crappy 17" crt.. ew..
here's a pic of my desk... messy i know. .i'm due for fall cleaning.. but 3 monitors is seriously the way to go.. i'll never go back to 1 monitor.. what you see is.. a single 21' crt.. and 2 22" lcds..
| You Are An ENFP |  The Inspirer
You love being around people, and you are deeply committed to your friends. You are also unconventional, irreverent, and unimpressed by authority and rules. Incredibly perceptive, you can usually sense if someone has hidden motives. You use lots of colorful language and expressions. You're quite the storyteller!
In love, you are quite the charmer. And you are definitely willing to risk your heart. You often don't follow through with your flirting or professed feelings. And you do break a lot of hearts.
At work, you are driven but not a workaholic. You just always seem to enjoy what you do. You would make an excellent entrepreneur, politician, or journalist.
How you see yourself: compassionate, unselfish, and understanding
When other people don't get you, they see you as: gushy, emotional, and unfocused |
wow this was fun to watch..
3 parts..
part 1.. goes into how religion is largely founded on myth. part 2.. goes into the 911 conspiracy (which i'm sure we've all seen) part 3.. goes into the international bankers and how they are manipulating world events for their own personal gain..
it's loaded with conspiracy but like i said.. a fun movie to watch even so.. :P
i recommend.. 4 stars..
| finally!!! |
[Jul. 27th, 2007|12:04 pm] |
good lord.. it's been years i've been asking for a better monitor.. we had 17" CRT's... they were dark.. fuzzy.. generally crappy monitors.. and when the tech refresh happened.. and we all got new boxes.. pretty nice boxes actually.. dual processors (not dual core).. the real deal.. 2 gigs or ram... we though.. for sure.. we'll get new monitors.. these 17 inchers are just horrible.. and then the news hit.. the monitors are not getting upgraded.. i was not pleased to say the least...
sooooooooo... i made it a mission to get myself a bigger monitor.. 20+ inches... and after much (weeks worth of) discussion and pressing the matter.. i ended up with a 21" CRT that was HUGE on my desk but worked and it was MUCH better... all the while.. i'm like.. dude.. i'm so going to buy my own friggen lcd screen and bring it into work.. these fuzzy CRT's are killing my eyes.. keeping in mind.. everyone else on the team didn't want a bigger monitor.. mostly everyone at least..
sooooo next i'm like.. wow the prices of the lcd's are dropping.. you can get a good 22" lcd for like $250!.. so i bring it up to the boss.. well.. she says.. if i get you one i'll have to get everyone one.. (all 16 in the entire code).. and she's like let me talk with my boss.. etc.. yada yada.. so my mission then turned into.. MY ENTIRE CODE WILL HAVE 22" MONITORS.... period..
so after much discussion.. justification letters.. going out to lunch with the CIO and discussing motives and feelings and how much more productive we'll all be with bigger monitors... as well as my very simple logic that went like this...
mr cio guy that can sign his signature and approve this purchase of x amount of 22" lcd monitors for my entire code... do you know the lady that answers the phones all day long?.. yeah her.. ever notice how's she's got a wireless headset?.. now one might question this because i don't have a wireless headset.. nobody else does.. we all have a normal phones.. but then again.. i don't use the phone that much do i?.. i mean what.. 15 - 30 mins max on the phone average per day.. but her?.. she's on the phone ALL DAY LONG.. so yeah.. i can see why she'd deserve to have a nice headset that let's her mute and walk around far from her desk and what not.. this is totally acceptable to me.. but notice.. she's got a normal monitor like the rest of us... that's ok too... but see we developers we have these normal (crappy) 17" monitors... but our job is to look at that monitor all day long.. if we're not staring at that screen.. then were not being productive.. so does everyone in the building need a big fancy lcd monitor? no.. but maybe just the people that are paid to use the computers all day long? like myself and the rest of my team..
so long story medium... everyone got approved for 22" monitors.. YAY... and i upped my anti and asked for a dual screen setup.. which after even more hoops.. i finally got approved.. and 2 others on my team expressed interest and got an approval as well in the wake of my own...basically only the high performers were approved to have a dual monitor setup.. so anywayz..
the new dual monitor video cards came in and i noticed after i installed them that i now have 3 video ports on the back of my computer (2 new ones and 1 old one).. so i experimented and hooked up a third monitor and IT WORKED!!.. granted.. my third monitor will be my old 17" cause i already gave away my 21" CRT.. but DUDE!!!..
so ok.. on my desk now i have 3 monitors.. (2 17" CRT's and a 22" lcd).. i'm gonna get another 22" lcd next week... but this is still awesome.
i have my console (feedback) window on the left screen.. maximized.. and my main development environment in the middle.. (22") and my web browser on the right screen (maximized).. it's awesome.. i can see everything i need at once.. well mostly.. still looking at this and thinking.. i had to have all this on one screen 17" before
and i'm going to say this with as much emphasis as i can muster.. if you do not have at least a dual display at work and you use the computer all day long... FIND A WAY TO GET DUAL MONITORS... it will change your work life..
it takes about a day to get used to.. and after that it's like TIVO and you'll be looking back thinking.. how the hell did i ever deal without it?
ok.. enuf of this book.. sorry.. i'm just excited.. my desk is a lil crowed now.. but it's worth it.. my next goal will be to have a nice setup like this at home.. good lord.. although it's low priority because i don't use the computers at home nearly as much as i used to...
| too bad.. |
[Jul. 22nd, 2007|10:41 am] |
In March 2005, Warner Bros. and Silver Pictures announced that Joss Whedon would write and direct the film adaptation of Wonder Woman,[17] with Whedon to be paid between $2 to $3 million.[18] Since Whedon was directing Serenity at the time, and required time to research Wonder Woman's background, he did not begin the screenplay until late 2005.[19] According to Joel Silver, the script would cover Wonder Woman's origin, and include Steve Trevor: "Trevor crashes on the island and they go back to Man's World."[20] Silver preferred for Wonder Woman to film in Australia once the script was completed.[21]
While Whedon stated in May 2005 that he would not cast Wonder Woman until he finished the script,[22] Charisma Carpenter[23] and Morena Baccarin[24] expressed interest in being cast in the role.
In February 2007, Whedon departed from the project, citing script differences with the studio.[25] Whedon reiterated: "I never had an actress picked out, or even a consistant [sic] front-runner. I didn't have time to waste on casting when I was so busy air-balling on the script." (Whedon stated that with the Wonder Woman project left behind, he would focus on making his film Goners.)[25]
A day before Whedon's departure from Wonder Woman, Warner Bros. Pictures and Silver Pictures purchased a spec script written by Matthew Jennison and Brent Strickland (presumably to prevent future legal action due to similarities between the scripts). Set during World War II, the script impressed executives at Silver Pictures.[26] However, Silver has made clear that he purchased the script because he didn't want it floating around in the industry: although it has good ideas, he doesn't wish for the Wonder Woman film to be a period piece.[27]
****
would have been nice to see a new wonder woman.
| we love bela fleck |
[Jun. 28th, 2007|03:43 pm] |
this is SO my song.. well except the dark skin part.. bela fleck is awesome..
One day I'd like to be rich and famous Maybe be funny like Andy and Ames Be on TV and sing like Stevie And have a girl who'd never leave me
But I'd really like a place where there could be no war A bright and shiny world where there ain't no poor Where there's opportunity, peace and unity Where people can be what they want to be
And where Apartheid could never happen again Where people don't judge you by the color of your skin Where I hold your hand and you hold mine Where a helpful hand is never hard to find A place where people care Where no one could bear When someone's hungry, with nothin' there Where the heart is never cold The young are never needy, The old are never poor, And the rich are never greedy
So bring the power to the people The people to the power Cuz now is the time, this is the hour To stop thinkin' about war start thinkin' about peace So on this life, we can get another lease With a lesson to learn A new direction to turn So we can take it to the sky where we belong Cuz 'fore to long, we been to wrong We've got the right notes But we play the wrong song Stop thinkin' with your wallet Think with your mind So we can move ahead Instead of behind We got the people selling drugs People are dying Politicians talking and we know they're lyin' Taxes for the poor, none for the rich People starvin' here in American Now ain't that a bummer
And now my heats been turned off From my job, I've been laid off What am I gonna do? Well, is the shape I'm in Because of my dark skin? Now I know that can't be true But since we're all down here Let's work to make it better Do our best for what it's worth But you know the rules are bent When you have to pay rent Just to live on earth Talk about justice
We're gonna do something now That's gonna be really slick We're gonna listen to Mr. Fleck and Chick
I'm gonna say one more thing Then I'll get outta your face How 'bout a sound With a little bass
And we got missiles on the ground Lasers in space Underground shelters, just in case That something goes boom Certain doom Cuz in our hearts we didn't make enough room For the love It comes from up above Let's stop talking war And let's offer the dove
Cuz when it's done it's over When it's over, it's done We look back at the wars And see nobody won It's time to make a better place For out daughters and our sons Or life will be a blast Pardon the pun
This is me... only they are kewler...
